On our farm we produce approximately 500 tons of hay a year. Alfalfa and orchard grass hay are grown. Our goal is to produce a quality product that keeps you coming back year after year.
Being located in Cent
ral Washington with a warmer climate and having an excellent water supply from the Yakima River, enables us to have a longer growing season and we can produce higher yields per cutting than other regions in
We have our soil tested regularly, and have specifically blended fertilizer applied to ensure a consistent product throughout the year. The fertilizer is applied using GPS guided equipment to make sure the application is evenly spread to the areas in need. Herbicide is also sprayed yearly to keep weeds minimal using the same GPS guided equipment.
Our hay is cut every 35-42 days with a New Holland 2450 swather that conditions the stems to ensure even and rapid drying which minimizes nutrient loss. The hay is then raked after drying for 5-7 day’s and then baled at the most optimal time of day. We also use a baler mounted moisture meter that checks the moisture of each bale as it is being baled to ensure proper moisture content of every bale. The bales are then picked up the same day they were baled and moved into our hay barn. Our hay b
arn is equipped with sunscreens to ensure minimal weather damage (bleaching). Bales on average weigh 90-100 pounds and are 16”x18” square 2-string.
We have our hay tested once it is baled as an additional step to ensure proper nutrition. It is tested for Protein, Relative Feed Value (RFV), Moisture content, Total Digestible Nutrients (TDN) and Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF).
We sell our hay to just about anyone, small and large orders. Our facilities can accommodate a semi with double trailers. All loading is the responsibility of
the buyer, if you need assistance please contact us prior to picking up your hay.
The hay market is constantly fluctuating and cost to produce hay is rising. Please contact us with any questions you may have. Go to prices page for current pricing.
